Rumors have been circulating the past few weeks during free agency regarding Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving and Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Jimmy Butler.

According to reports, Butler is extremely dissatisfied with some of his teammates’ — namely Karl-Anthony Towns — dedication to the defensive side of the ball this past season, and will not be looking to extend his contract with the Wolves, wanting to become a free agent in 2019.

Kyrie Irving is also becoming a free agent in 2019, and many are saying even though the situation he’s currently in the middle of in Boston is great in terms of team success, Irving has always had his eye on playing in New York, even before he was traded to Boston last year.

The pair of All-Stars are pretty good friends, and sources are suggesting the two could team up in New York when they both hit free agency after next season. Jimmy Butler is a fan of those suggestions as well apparently.

Butler has also been seen liking comments suggesting he play for the Spurs next season.

All we can definitely gather from Jimmy’s Instagram activity is that the four-time All-Star wants out of Minnesota, and it would only be an added bonus if he was able to play with his long-time friend Kyrie in The Big Apple.
