LeBron James may be a Laker now, but he’s still got plenty to give to Ohio.

With hours until the opening of his “I Promise” school in Akron, he explains what opening the new elementary school for at-risk children means for him, and why it will likely go down as one of the crowning achievements of his life:

The school is set to open on Monday morning for third and fourth-grade children, though there are plans to expand.

Say whatever you want about LBJ, but some things are just bigger than basketball. In this case, it doesn’t matter what jersey he is wearing, only that he’s doing what he can to make an impact in the world he lives in.
