The NBA season has already produced some great moments so far. We have had some game winners, some great dunks and even a good punch-up as well. You could say that the league is already in full swing.

So far the Toronto Raptors look like the best team in the East and (not very surprisingly) the Warriors are the best team in the West. With each passing game, we gain more and more knowledge of how teams are approaching this season and what they need to do to improve throughout the year. Some players are exceeding expectations, some players are doing the opposite. Either way there are likely to be some more trades coming up and here are my top 5 names that look likely to be moved pretty soon.

5. Terry Rozier

When Kyrie Irving went down with a season-ending injury last year it was up to Terry Rozier to fill the gap. He did so well and had some impressive moments in the late stages of the regular season and in the Playoffs.

Rozier would have hoped that his performance would have lead to more minutes on the floor this season but after 4 games he’s only getting just over 24 a night. Rozier is 24 himself and has the potential to be a franchise point guard if given the chance and Boston cannot afford to pay him a big money contract if they want to keep the likes of Irving, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

4. Reggie Jackson

The Pistons won their first 2 games thanks to Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond both averaging a double-double but if they are to progress forward and make a real push for the Playoffs then they need a better point guard to operate the pick and roll and feed Drummond and Griffin.

Jackson is very athletic but he isn’t a good shooter or a great playmaker. The Pistons need good shooting to spread the floor for Drummond and Griffin and they need a good playmaker to run the offense and get the 2 bigs involved.

3. Mike Conley

It is time for the Memphis Grizzlies to accept the fact that they need to start going in another direction. Gasol and Conley are not winning them games or keeping them competitive. Jaren Jackson looks like he could be a franchise player and now Memphis should cash in on whatever assets they have and look to the future.

Conley is still worth a fair amount on the market right now so the Grizzlies could get some good draft picks now from a team looking to win this season.

2. Lonzo Ball

The Lakers need a lot of work right now. Simply bringing in LeBron James hasn’t worked so far and the eclectic mix of players surrounding him doesn’t seem to be helping. The Lakers have 3 quality point guards right now, but all they need is Rondo and LeBron.

Lonzo Ball still has a huge amount of potential. If he could just get his jump shot sorted he could be a top 5 PG in the league in a few years time. Trading him would for some quality shooters would give the Lakers more balance and also get rid of LaVar Ball and all the circus he brings.

1. Paul Millsap

The Nuggets have surprised everyone with their 4-0 start. They beat the Warriors thanks to a great game-saving block and the combination of Nikola Jokic and Gary Harris is working wonders. Jokic will be an All-Star this season no doubt and maybe Harris too.

The only thing holding them back is Paul Millsap. Despite being the Nugget’s highest earner at just under $30 million this season Millsap is only averaging 10 points a game on a dismal 29.2% from the field. He is an anchor weighing his team down and the Nuggets should offload him as soon as possible to add complementary pieces for Jokic and Harris. These 2 players are the future for Nuggets Basketball and all deadweight must be cut off to let these 2 guys fly.
