After reports flew earlier of Bradley Beal’s apparent urgncy to get out of Washington, the 2018 All-Star has responded with exactly the opposite, emphatically stating his desire to remain with the Wizards after the team’s 135-131 win over Houston.

As long as he’s with the Wizards, he’s obligated to demonstrate loyalty to the club in a public setting. So, yes, this could all be a smokescreen for the fans and media as he works behind the scenes on his ticket out of town.

Yet, despite all the problems in Washington at the moment, there’s reason for Beal to stay. He’s always been close with John Wall, and leaving him now wouldn’t make much sense since Beal is still young and has plenty of time to seek new opportunities¬†later. Secondly, he knows his talent is appreciated with the Wizards. He gets minutes and touches every night while playing for a fan-base and organization that love him.

Interestingly enough, after Monday night’s victory, the Wizards have improved to 8-12 while winning 6 of their last 10 games. They are now only two games back from the 8th seeded Orlando Magic.

Perhaps we’ve overblown the train-wreck in D.C.? Maybe the Wizards will pull it together after-all.
