Nobody could have imagined, even at age 34, that 10x All-Star Carmelo Anthony would have trouble finding a place in the NBA.
After his short stint with Houston ended, Melo has gone dark, with his agent reportedly still looking around for places he could go.
Only, that’s proving to be nearly impossible.
Reality is, not a whole lot of teams are interested in the star. Some NBA execs are convinced he won’t be coming back at all.
Team execs have told @WindhorstESPN Carmelo Anthony has likely played his last NBA game, but what about the teams whose primary interest isn’t, um, well, winning right now? Melo is a popular locker room guy, fan fave & if his defense is lacking, maybe a front office won’t mind? pic.twitter.com/PIRNCzB1K1

At this point, if there is interest, it’d come from a lottery team in need of a pick-me-up.
For a guy that was averaging 22 points per game just two seasons ago, that’s got to be a rude awakening.
But this is just the way of pro basketball. Age catches up with everyone at some point. In Carmelo’s case, it just knocked on his door a little earlier than usual. There’s nothing wrong with that.
