Derrick Rose is the youngest MVP in NBA history and after many injuries he is still one of the best point guards in the league.
Yes, he struggled in New York, he had a problem in Cleveland, he was waived by Utah Jazz, but what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.
This season, he already scored 50 points against the Jazz and at this moment he leads all guards in the NBA in the 3pts shooting with amazing 49.3%.
Last night, he scores 26 points in only 29 minutes against the Celtics. Recently he has an interview with Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, and Rose said that he had problems when he was suffering because of all injuries.
“This is the happiest I’ve been in a long time, coming in not worrying about the media like I did like I had to worry about in Chicago. Or dealing with the front office like I did in Chicago or just dealing with any problems…
“I’m coming in worry free, focused on the game that night and that’s how it’s supposed to be.”
He also said that his goal for this season will be to win the Sixth Man of the Year Award:
“I would like winning Sixth Man of the Year,” Rose said. “I don’t think that’s anything bad to say or a bad goal with me coming off the bench. I want to be the best bench player. It’s just how I feel. If anything I think it’d help the team.”
At this moment, Derrick Rose is averaging 19.3 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in only 29.5 minutes per game and he is a strong favorite to win this award.
