It seems we’ve got a bit of a rivalry between Knicks’ guard Mario Hezonja and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It all started last night, when Giannis tried to, unsuccessfully, block one of Hezonja’s dunks. After slamming the ball through, the Greek Freak falls to the floor, to which Hezonja proceeds to then step over him while staring him down. It really was quite a show.

The two play next on Christmas Day, with the Bucks paying a visit to Madison Square Garden.

There’s already been plenty of talking before then though, including this quote by Hezonja postgame:

“Honestly, if you’re afraid, this is not for you. I don’t want to be disrespectful, but if you feel fear this is not the place for you, New York is not a place for you and this team is not a place for you.”

True, Mario Hezonja hasn’t done much in the NBA so far. Clearly, he isn’t letting that hold back his confidence against one of the NBAs best players.

Of course, Giannis made a comment of his own following the issue, proclaiming that he’d “punch him in the stands next time.”

We’ll see who wins the next battle, but my money’s probably on Giannis.
