In the midst of a hailstorm of rumors, LeBron James was able to meet with coveted Pelicans big man Anthony Davis for a dinner in Los Angeles.
With the Pelicans staying overnight before traveling to Sacramento, James and Davis met up for a postgame dinner in Los Angeles, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
If Davis desires to be a member of the Lakers, it’s only a matter of time before he’s eventually sporting the purple and gold. Davis is in complete control of his destiny, and it may lead him directly to Southern California.
It’s just a dinner, it doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Still, with all that’s been going on, there’s no way the playing future of these stars wasn’t discussed in their sit down.
So far, the word is telling us that Davis will likely consider a trade request in the summer if the Pelicans can’t figure things out this season. We also know that while the Lakers are pursuing the All-Star aggressively, they’ve yet to be able to pay the price to get him.
Whatever happens, going forward, it’s clear things can never be the same for Anthony Davis in New Orleans. At this point, his time with the Pelicans is nearing its end.
