Well, consider the Washington Wizards new contenders in the race for Zion Williamson. With a 13-23 record for the season, and an 11th place standing, the team finds themselves in a very unfortunate situation. Their chances of a playoff run are quickly dwindling, and they’ll find that the best, and maybe the only, remaining option for them is tank mode.
With this latest news on John Wall, they’re one step closer to it.
Sources: Washington Wizards guard John Wall is considering surgery on his injured left heel, which would sideline him six-to-eight months.

If Wall elects to go with surgery, his season would be over, and we’ve seen what the team looks like without him. They’d quickly become one of the worst teams in the league, and could essentially go all-in on throwing the 2018/19 campaign.
No doubt, it’ll be a rough few months for Wizards fans, but it should provide some level of comfort knowing it won’t be in vain. If the team manages to get a high lottery pick for the 2019 Draft, it could change the fortunes of the franchise.
No matter how you see it, something needs to give for the Wizards. And this Wall absence may be just the thing they need.
