Things aren’t going well for Real Madrid, as they’ve been far behind the team that completely dominated Europe for 3 straight years.
Europe’s winningest team is desperately craving new faces just to try and make it back to next year’s UEFA Champions League, let alone trying to defend its status as reigning Champions.
So, even though despite Santiago Solari has constantly addressed the team’s attacking front as the biggest issue and the team’s goal-scoring has really gone downhill since Cristiano Ronaldo left the team to join Juventus, their stoppers haven’t been great either.
That being said, it looks like Florentino Perez is already planning ahead of next campaign, trying to fix the team’s defensive struggles by completing the signing of Eder Militao, a Brazilian center-back from Porto.
The 21-year-old is already drawing comparisons with former Real Madrid standout Pepe, one of the toughest defenders of the past decade and a beloved figure at Santiago Bernabeu.
For that matter, Los Blancos are bound to offload as much as 50 million, with the stopper set to join the team after the end of the season, as the player has already accepted Real Madrid’s terms, as per Express UK.
Should Militao be dressed in white, he’ll probably split his playing time with World Champion Raphael Varane, while also helping the Galacticos rest Sergio Ramos through stretches.
Real Madrid need to speed up this deal as the Brazilian is also on Liverpool’s and Manchester United’s agenda, and his price could jump to 75 million if they don’t sign him before July 15th.
