Ever since joining Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho took the English Premier League for assault and became one of the most prolific playmakers in the world.

Nonetheless, he hasn’t been able to replicate such success during his spell at Barcelona, struggling to prove he was worthy of the huge sum of money the Blaugrana had to pay for his services.

Coutinho arrived at  Camp Nou amid a lot of controversies, allegedly faking an injury to try and force Liverpool’s hand to deal him, even though he wasn’t going to be eligible to play in the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona.

Eventually, his former team went on to become the tournament’s runner-up, but Coutinho didn’t seem to care much as he was getting a lot of the first-team action at Camp Nou.

Things have changed drastically ever since, and the 26-year-old is now struggling to get things going, especially with Malcolm thriving for Valverde’s team.

In the meantime, Coutihno has been involved in several transfer rumors, with Chelsea FC surging as a dark horse to acquire his services.

According to Sport, Maurizio  Sarri would be delighted with the idea of luring Coutinho back to England to replace want-away Eden Hazard, who’s reportedly going to “announce a decision regarding his future very soon”.

Let’s not forget Hazard has been closely tied with a move to Real Madrid since 2016 and it looks like he’s finally set to fulfill his dream of being a Galactico, should Florentino Perez go on and try to get Chelsea to make a deal with them before his contract runs out in 2020.

Coutinho was also linked with a move to Manchester  United earlier in the year, as it looks like he’s no longer welcome at Liverpool for the way he treated the organization.

Either way, his days at Barcelona look numbered, and he’s yet another case of an incredibly talented player that made a terrible decision for his career.
