The Lakers, just minutes ago, sent Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac to the Clippers for Mike Muscala, a deal that has many scratching their heads.
While it may seem like it was just a desperate attempt to make a change on the Lakers’ side, there may be a method to the madness, and it likely has something to do with Carmelo Anthony.
The Lakers plan to evaluate the full buyout market once it takes shape, but Carmelo Anthony is expected to be among the considerations too, league sources tell ESPN.

With the Lakers opening up that roster spot, it could pave the way for Anthony, who has been inactive since the first 10 games of the season. And while many wouldn’t agree with the choice, it could prove beneficial in adding a much needed offensive boost to the ball-club.
