Perhaps the biggest trade of deadline day was the one that saw Kristaps Porzingis move to Dallas for Dennis Smith Jr, Wesley Matthews, and DeAndre Jordan.

It was an interesting trade, pairing Porzingis with young star Luke Doncic in an obvious attempt to up the star-power.

They might not be done, either. According to the Dallas Morning News, the Mavericks are aiming for one particular star center this free-agency.

“Having just acquired a reigning All-Star in Kristaps Porzingis via a blockbuster trade with the New York Knicks, a league source told SportsDay’s Brad Townsend that the Mavericks will now set their sights on a summer addition of a 28-year-old center who on Thursday became an All-Star himself. Enter Nikola Vucevic. The 7-foot Orlando center will become an unrestricted free agent at season’s end, as he’s playing out the final year of a four-year, $53 million contract. One of his agents is Bill Duffy, who also represents Mavericks rookie sensation Luka Doncic.”

By all indications, the team appears to be keen on building some type of European based superteam. And, if they pull it off, it could result in a lot of wins in the seasons to come.

A new era is dawning in Dallas. Luka will be the centerpiece of it all, but don’t expect him to be riding solo for much longer.
