In the midst of a miserable season, there has been a glimmer of hope for the 10th seeded Lakers: the development of Brandon Ingram. After a rather mediocre start, Ingram has looked impressive of late, averaging over 23 points over the last 10 games.

Saturday night was a continuance of this recent streak. In 39 minutes of action, BI had one of the better games of his season, putting up 25 points and seven rebounds on 53-percent shooting. It was in this same game that LeBron apparently whispered something to say to an improving Ingram.

This has yet to be confirmed but it’s not hard to believe. The struggling Lakers are running out of options at this point, with pretty much everyone else dropping the ball so far this season.

Which is why LeBron will need Ingram to step up big-time if the Lakers are to sneak into the postseason.

But with their playoff lives on life-support, it will not be an easy task regardless.
