Portuguese teams have been developing pretty good players in the last couple of years and it doesn’t look like that’s going to stop anytime soon. It was Porto that really took off this business during the beginning of the decade, with the rest of the league following their footsteps.
At this moment, Benfica has excelled at this practice, developing good prospects and then seeing how the entire continent fights for that young blood.
This year, they feature some very impressive youngsters in Joao Felix and Ruben Dias. These two have been great together and many clubs have shown their will to land at least one of them.
Juventus has recently surfaced as a serious bidder for Felix and Dias, according to Tuttosport, as the Zebras have almost everything done to land Joao Felix and now will try to get the two players instead of one. This comes after they decided to give up intending to sign Matthijs de Ligt.
The Italian club is expected to send scouts in order to take a closer look to both Felix and Dias in front of classic rival, the aforementioned Porto. This season Felix managed to participate in 13 goals for his team, scoring 9 and assisting 4 times so far this season. On the other hand, Ruben Dias, who isn’t exactly an offensive player, has managed to score twice in 22 games with Benfica.
