Cristiano Ronaldo proved once again why he’s the king of the UEFA Champions League as he led his Juventus to a heroic comeback vs Atletico Madrid.
La Vecchia Signora had to overcome a 2-0 deficit after a heart-breaking loss at Wanda Metropolitano, but that was before CR7 took matters into his own hands.
The Portuguese was back as his best and netted a hat-trick to knock out the Colchoneros, but now, it looks like he could miss the first leg of the quarter-finals against Ajax due to a suspension.
Thing is, right after Cristiano scored the third and final goal of the game, he went on to take a huge shot at Diego Simeone by grabbing his groin the same way the Argentinian did following his side’s triumph in the 1st leg.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the forward could be suspended for one game if UEFA confirms he actually insulted Atletico Madrid’s fans.
Let’s remember Diego Simeone was fined €20,000 for his “improper conduct” right after he made that gesture.
When asked about Cristiano’s actions, Simeone said: “I’m sure Cristiano made the gesture with the same intention I did, with his people.”
Hopefully, Juventus can count with their superstar as they look to finally put an end on their UCL drought, the main reason why they signed Cristiano in the first place.
