Christian Eriksen has excelled for Tottenham Hotspur for years, and it looks like the Danish playmaker is finally ready to take a step forward on his career and leave North London.
Eriksen was under FC Barcelona’s radar a couple of seasons ago, but the Spurs managed to hold on to one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Now, Real Madrid is reportedly keen to snub him out of England, with Zinedine Zidane ecstatic to pair him with Luka Modric.
Nonetheless, it looks like Los Blancos are about to have quite a fight to sign him, with Juventus reportedly joining the race for the Danish.
Calciomercato reported La Vecchia Signora is keen to strengthen their squad in the summer, as they look forward to trying and convince Pep Guardiola to replace Massimiliano Allegri as the team’s boos.
The 27-year-old will be under contract at North London until 2020, but contract extension talks have halted amid Real Madrid’s and Juventus interest.
Nonetheless, his agent isn’t interested in addressing the situation as of today, and will wait until the summer before further discussing the matter:
“Christian only wants to focus on football. Besides his technical, tactical and athletic skills, also this attitude has contributed over the years to his impressive transformation from world-class talent to a world-class player. At this moment I would prefer not to join the speculations about contracts and transfers,” his agent Martin Schoots said a couple of weeks ago.
As for Juventus, they’re about to be one of the most aggressive teams in the summer window, as they’ve also been linked with a move for Manchester United’s Alexis Sanchez.
The Bianconeri are determined to finally make a splash in Europe and win the UEFA Champions League, so they won’t hesitate to spend a lot of money to give Cristiano Ronaldo a hand.
