With Real Madrid set to go through a major locker room overhaul in the summer, it looks like Italian giants S.S.C Napoli would be more than willing to take a couple of players off their hands.
With Los Blancos set to make a huge splash in this upcoming market, several veteran players must be heading out of the door as the team looks to strengthen their locker room and go back to their former self.
That’s why Calcio Napoli 24 reports Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis would be interested in snubbing away three former Real Madrid stars, with Isco Alarcon reportedly at the top of his wishlist for the summer transfer window.
The Spanish playmaker had been linked with a move out of Santiago Bernabeu for quite some time, but Zidane’s appointment might as well be enough to convince him of staying put at his nation’s capital.
Moreover, Napoli would also love to lure Marcelo out of Real Madrid, with the 30-year-old falling down in Santiago Solari’s pecking order in favor of standout youngster Sergio Reguilon.
Marcelo was tied with a move to Juventus but, once again, Zidane’s comeback may mean the Brazilian would like to postpone his reunion with his beloved friend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Last, but not least, the Italian giants would like to reinforce the center of the pitch with the addition of Casemiro, a tough and hard-nosed defender that would thrive in Italy’s physical tournament.
Casemiro is still under contract until 2021 and has gone back to his former level following a slow start of the season, so whether the team would be interested in letting him go is yet to be seen.
Napoli has finished behind Juventus as the league’s front-runner 3 times in the last 6 years and haven’t found any kind of success in the UEFA Champions League so far, so the team is finally ready to spend a big buck in order to fight toe-to-toe with the biggest clubs in the world
