Even though it looked as if Paul Pogba was ready to stay put at Manchester United given his recently improved form, now it seems like he’s heading out the door anyway.

The Frenchman was struggling to find his best under Jose Mourinho’s tutelage, but with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking the reins of the team, the midfielder has quickly gone back to his former self in the center of the pitch.

Manchester United fans were happy to see their superstar back in track and hoping the team made a push for a top-4 spot in order to retain him in the summer, but, according to reports, he’s bound to leave either way with Real Madrid at the top of his list.

The 26-year-old and his agent Mino Raiola are keen to get him out of Old Trafford as soon as possible and even though a Juventus return seemed more likely a couple of months ago, Zinedine Zidane’s appointment as Real Madrid’s boss has opened the door for his compatriot to land at Santiago Bernabeu, according to Marca.

The Spanish outlet claims Real Madrid would be keen to bring Pogba as Luka Modric’s successor, as the 33-year-old Ballon d’Or winner’s form has taken a major downfall since the World Cup and is not getting any younger.

Moreover, the midfielder recently stated that playing for Real Madrid is a “dream for anyone” and had nothing but praise for Zinedine Zidane during a press conference while on international duty with France.

“Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. There is also Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football,” Pogba told Sky Sports.

Should Real Madrid sign him, they’d be back on track to dominate both Europe and La Liga, as the team has also been tied with a move for Eden Hazard and his compatriot Kylian Mbappe, something that would finally take them back to their former level following one of their most disappointing seasons ever.
