Big Baller Brand may have just lost its biggest endorser.
Amidst scandal regarding the company’s co-founder, Lonzo may have hinted that he is moving on from the infamous and family-run brand. The L.A. guard posted a cryptic photo to Instagram, in which he is accompanied by Nike’s “It’s only a crazy dream until you do it” campaign. The caption reads “moving on to bigger and better.”
It cannot be a move that is supported by LaVar Ball, who would obviously hate the decision.
But some in the organization have speculated that the Big Baller Brand shoes may be a reason for some of Lonzo’s injuries. Add in the recent scandal and the clear rejection of the brand by bigger companies and fans, and it becomes clear why Lonzo is looking to leave it all behind.
Nike will not only give Ball higher-grade equipment, but also a bigger platform to increase his name and fame in the NBA community.
The Lakers will need their young point guard at peak form if they are to rebound from what is a now lost season. As the offseason approaches, he will be key in molding the future of their franchise. He will not only need to be healthy but also distraction free as his team enters a very crucial time in their existence.
