Kevin Durant decided to chime in on the ever-popular topic that is the best NBA players of all time, and the two-time Finals MVP listed his top five best players of all time.

In an interview on Darius Miles’ podcast, Durant named Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Magic Johnson as his top five best NBA players of all time.

“Mike (Jordan), obviously at one. Kobe (Bryant) two. Shaq (O’Neal) three. Hakeem (Olajuwon) four. Magic (Johnson),” said Durant during the podcast.

Durant’s list looks legit although he has ranked Bryant pretty high, but the reigning Finals MVP has always had respect for the Mamba. “Easy, No. 2 ever”, said Durant when asked about Bryant, “Not in greatness but in terms of skill to me.”

Bryant gained Durant’s attention after an offensive onslaught from 2006-2013 that bred two NBA championships.

Durant admits having a tough time choosing Olajuwon over Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who would’ve been next on his list. “I’m looking at it from a pure skill standpoint,” said Durant on the pair of legendary centers, “It’s a toss-up. [Hakeem is] more my taste though.”

With no LeBron James on the list, Durant added that he “likes to put these dudes in there when they retire. That’s when I really want to evaluate their careers.”

Durant may end up on someone’s top five list before his career is over.

The future Hall-Of-Famer has Finals MVPs, rings, league MVPs, and scoring titles to make his case for one of the greatest of all time.
