There’s a lot of basketball fans out there right now who would be thrilled to know that Space Jam 2 is no joke and will officially start filming this Summer. LeBron James is confirmed to be on the cast but it still remains to be seen on which NBA stars will be joining him.
While we wait to see who is eventually cast, NBA 2K video editor Shady00018 has released a Space Jam 2 x NBA 2K mashup trailer which includes a new Monstars squad consisting of Carmelo Anthony, Draymond Green, Isaiah Thomas, JaVale McGee and DeMarcus Cousins.
Not only did the 2k editor include the Monstars squad made out of current NBA players, but he also included a special appearance by J.R. Smith and his “Secret Stuff”. Travis Scott, Dwyane Wade, Luke Walton and Michael Rapaport were also featured in the video.

LeBron James will not be competing in this upcoming Playoffs series but he will be very busy this summer with the Los Angeles Lakers in preparation for the 2010-2020 season.
According to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon, there have even been plans to build a full basketball court on the set of Space Jam 2 so that LeBron doesn’t miss out on a full summer of training. If it’s true, it is quite similar to what Michael Jordan went through in the original Space Jam film.
Many have compared MJ and LeBron on how they play on the court, they may now be compared on how they are as actors on the screen. Despite all the hype, the Space Jam 2 premiere is not expected to air for at least two years, with a planned release date of July 16th, 2021.
