It looks like Barcelona are keen to find Luis Suarez’successor rather sooner than later, and they might as well make a surprise move for one of Europe’s most prolific goalscorers in the summer.

Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette has been turning heads ever since making a move from the Ligue 1 and he has thrived with the Gunners all year long, so Josep Maria Bartomeu would be interested in luring him to Camp Nou a couple of months from now.

The Catalans have serious questions about Luis Suarez’ longevity and don’t want to wait until he’s already heading out the door before strengthening their offense, and, according to The Express, they wouldn’t mind meeting Arsenal’s asking price for the Frenchman.

As per the report, the Gunners would take no less than £70 million for the 27-year-old, who was just elected Arsenal’s player of the year thanks to this impressive run.

Moreover, Lacazette has shown that he’s more than willing to share the spotlight with another top-tier goalscorer, thriving next to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in one of the world’s deadliest 1-2 punches right now, so it wouldn’t be much of a problem for him to take the second wheel next to Lionel Messi.

Also, the Express claims Lacazette is quite close with Eric Abidal, a former Barcelona legend who’s currently working as the team’s technical secretary, so that could help the Blaugrana convince him to leave North London and take a step forward on his career.

So far, he’s scored 18 goals to go along with 12 assists in 46 caps for the Gunners, and his ability to finish with both feet and dominate aerial duels make him a huge threat up front.

Should they strike out on him in the summer, the report also claims they will try and make yet another run at Atletico Madrid’s star Antoine Griezmann.
