Have we witnessed Kyrie Irving’s last game in a Celtics jersey? Now that their season is over, the speculation and talk regarding the point guard’s future will only heat up. In fact, not even an hour after he was eliminated from the postseason, it was one of Kyrie’s friends that started the latest chatter after he posted a cryptic photo on Instagram.

It shows Kyrie in a Lakers jersey with LeBron, with a caption that read “Hope y’all ready kuz I am.” Clearly, this unconfirmed buddy of Uncle Drew is making the assumption that the 6x All-Star is headed to L.A. this summer.
And while the consensus is that Kyrie is definitely leaving Boston, are the Lakers really his next destination? After failing to lead the Celtics into at least the Eastern Conference Finals, wouldn’t he want to prove he is capable of winning without the help of LeBron James?
Nonetheless, it is understandable why Kyrie would be interested in a reunion. He wouldn’t have to deal with the slander, he could take over the team when LeBron’s age catches up to him, and he would still have a great opportunity to win in one of the league’s highest markets.
So while we don’t know whether or not the post was a sign of things to come, we cannot rule that possibility out — not until Irving makes his ultimate decision in July.
