The wide majority of the basketball world believe that this will be Kevin Durant’s last season in Golden State with the idea of KD joining the New York Knicks in the off-season.
The two-time Finals MVP Warrior will now be missing the Game 6 potential series-ending win against the Rockets due to a strained calf he suffered in Game 5. Many believe that if the Rockets go on to win the last two games of the series, Durant would have played his final game in a Warriors jersey.
However, according to a report by The Athletic’s Sam Amick, there is a “recent sense” among those close to the situation that Durant might actually “think twice” about leaving Golden State due to the “recent stretch of domination and fan appreciation.”

* Intel on Klay’s situation and why they need to be careful
* With recent vibe improved, there’s an uptick in (slight) optimism internally regarding Durant’s future https://t.co/5QGXoN5isH

It sure would be a surprise to many if he Durant stays in Oakland, the Knicks with room for two max contracts have been widely speculated to be the new go-to team for KD. Boston Celtics’ Kyrie Irving is also yet another player that New York have set their eyes on.
At this stage, everything is just speculation, Kevin Durant is the only player that truly knows what exactly is going to happen. However, this 2019 playoffs series pans out may have an impact on his final decision.
