The 28-year-old has been a longtime Real Madrid target and now that his contract is set to expire in 2020, it looks like the Blues may be forced to sell him right now instead of risking losing him for nothing.
Talks between both clubs have been ongoing for quite some months, but the London side was still hopeful the Belgian gave up on his dream of playing under Zidane’s tutelage and signed a new contract.

Also, with the team securing the 3rd spot in the English Premier League and therefore their spot on next year’s UEFA Champions League, Chelsea fans were hoping for Hazard to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge. However, the forward confirmed he had already made up his mind way before their 0-0 draw vs. Leicester City, and that he had already informed the club about his future plans:
“I have made my decision, that’s it. “I’m still waiting (for the situation to develop). Yes (I told the club) a couple of weeks ago. I have made my decision but it is not just about me. We have a final to play and then I will see. I wanted that [to have the situation sorted out] but that’s not happened. I’m still waiting like you are waiting and like the fans are waiting,” Hazard told the media, as quoted by Marca.
Hazard has been one of the world’s best players all year long, netting 15 goals to go along with 16 assists across all competitions for Maurizio Sarri’s side, and he’s exactly the kind of player Real Madrid need to go back to their former self, and Real Madrid will have to offload, at least, €130 million for the winger if they truly want to sign him.
