The NBA Lottery Draft reveal shocked the world with the New Orleans Pelicans being selected as the number one draft pick holder. It’s come as quite a surprise to many with the Pelicans coming into today with the seventh best odds of going away with the number one draft pick.
There has certainly been a lot of luck for Pelicans GM, David Griffin who has got the top pick of the Draft for his team in four of the last seasons since 2011. The number one pick in 2011, 2013, 2014 were all selected by Griffin when he was the GM of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now Griffin has yet another opportunity to select the number one pick, this time with the Pelicans.
However, the amount of luck that David Griffin has had with these NBA lotteries may all stem from a lucky tie that he was given from Cavaliers’ administrator Jeff Cohen.

It sure is a powerful tie, clearly, it’s a massive superstition for Griffin who will likely be wearing that tie once again next year at the next Draft Lottery. The lottery has sure left teams such as the New York Knicks very disappointed with the ultimate outcome.
The big question now surrounds Anthony Davis who earlier this season requested a trade from the Pelicans, an addition of Zion Williamson may be the exact thing that Davis needs to convince him to stay.
