Real Madrid is looking to make a major overhaul this offseason, as some cycles have finished and the club is set to let several players go in order to make room for the new ones that are hoped to take the team back to the top. It’s not a secret that Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure affected the team this season and now Los Blancos will try to get another superstar to lead them as well as supporting actors to make this squad the dangerous one they were before the beginning of this campaign.
In the last couple of seasons, Real Madrid had been linked with several players across Europe, but now that their level has decreased considerably, the club apparently is going to try to sign some of those players once and for all, while letting other assets go to find a different place to showcase their talents.
Los Blancos are already negotiating with plenty of players right now as well as planning their next moves for the upcoming months. Today we’ll let you know who could be landing at Santiago Bernabeu and who could be leaving the club in the next weeks. Here are Real Madrid latest rumors and transfer plans at this moment.
Zidane Eyeing Pogba And Eriksen To Boost The Midfield
At this moment, the only players who have a secured spot in Los Blancos midfield are Toni Kroos and Luka Modric; as for the others, the door is open to leaving the club, as that area is the one that will face more changes in the summer. Manchester United’s Paul Pogba remains as the top target for Zinedine Zidane, but his price tag could be a problem for Florentino Perez.
This would make Madrid turn their eyes to Tottenham’s standout Christian Eriksen, as the Danish player hasn’t signed a contract extension with the Spurs and everything points out he’d be leaving North London in a short time. In addition, the White House remains interested in N’Golo Kante, Adrien Rabiot and Tanguy Ndombele to reinforce the creative zone.
Hazard And Alonso Are On The Way To Spain
Eden Hazard and Real Madrid’s drama has been around all season long, but the arrival of the Belgian player looks closer and closer every day, and now Real Madrid is reportedly preparing an initial offer for him just after the Europa League final next week. Alongside Hazard, Madrid would be landing full-back Marcos Alonso, who has hinted an exit from the Blues in recent hours.
Standard Sports says the Spanish giants will go all in to sign Hazard and Alonso after two initial offers for the Belgian were rejected from Chelsea. Hazard’s value is believed to be £100 million, but adding Alonso to the operation won’t make things any easier for Real Madrid. Albeit Hazard is expected to join from Chelsea, this won’t be the last time we heard on this topic, as nothing is official yet.
Neymar, Mbappe Remain As Favorites To Reinforce The Attack
Madrid hasn’t stopped looking for a good replacement for Gareth Bale and a good complement, or replacement as well, for Karim Benzema. When everything pointed out they had Luka Jovic locked down, things fell apart and the team came back to the search of new attackers.
PSG duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe remain as favorite to get to Madrid in the offseason, although PSG can fight back for these two. Added to Ney and Mbappe, Tottenham striker Harry Kane is also one of Madrid’s targets, but his asking price at Tottenham perhaps is too much for Los Blancos at this point.
Bale, Navas To Lead Team Exodus
While new signings look extremely hard to carry out right now, Zinedine Zidane’s team will surely let a lot of players go this summer, starting from Welsh winger Gareth Bale and goalkeeper Keylor Navas after falling to Thibaut Courtois and being told the team didn’t count with his services for the upcoming term.
Plus, players like Jesus Vallejo, Marco Llorente, and Dani Ceballos are set to leave the team in next days while other assets who will be making their comebacks to the team, including James Rodriguez, Mateo Kovacic, and Martin Odegaard, aren’t likely to remain as part of the team for the next season. James is expected to keep his talents with Bayern or signing with a Premier League side, same as Kovacic with Chelsea and Odegaard, who’ll remain in Eredivisie, but now with Ajax.
Marco Asensio Could Be Traded For Sadio Mane
Ever since Zidane came back to the team, Madrid has been linked with a move for Liverpool star Sadio Mane; although the Reds have stated they will reject any offer they get for the Senegalese forward, there might be a way for Los Blancos to get Mane and get rid of out-form Marco Asensio.
Diario Gol reported recently that Liverpool has valued Mane in €200 million; while Florentino Perez is only prepared to pay up to €120 million for him, Asensio could be included in the deal in order to facilitate things for Madrid, and Jurgen Klopp would receive a player he’s been watching for some time now. There are several things to discuss on this potential trade, but Mane could be the perfect piece for Los Blancos if Neymar and Mbappe decide to stay in Paris or as the perfect partner for any of them.
