The Golden State Warriors have had yet another unbelievable season with the team qualifying for a fifth straight NBA Finals appearance. One of the key figures of the team that’s helped the Warriors to get them where they are today is Klay Thompson who has had yet another incredible season.

However, Klay like many others was very surprised to find out that he didn’t make the All-NBA team this year. Although it clearly annoyed him, Klay Thompson finds himself much more focused on helping lead the Warriors to a third straight championship.

On the other hand, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith doesn’t want to discard this decision, he went as far as describing it as a ‘disgrace’.

“I agree with him too, I think that the important point that needs to be made is that it’s a disgrace,” said Smith on First Take. “You talk about what Klay Thompson brings to the table and it’s not about what guards are better than him or not better than him. When you take the regular season into consideration, I would’ve put Klay Thompson… ahead of Kyrie Irving, I would’ve put him ahead of Russell Westbrook AND Kemba Walker.”

Smith’s main argument was that Klay is a two-way player that has so much more value than players that put up big numbers.

Kemba Walker was one of the players selected before Klay Thompson as part as the NBA All-Team and under Smith’s logic, Walker is much less deserving since he hasn’t been able tonto lead the hornets to any playoffs’ series.

This season, Klay Thompson managed to average 21.5 points per game while shooting an impressive respectable 46.7% from the floor. Not only that but the Warriors shooting guard continued to keep his streak of shooting above 40% from deep, this being the eight season in a row.

However, the more important focus of the Warriors star is the upcoming Finals series against the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors have just defeated the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 6 to qualify for their first ever NBA Finals appearance.
