Florentino Perez has been on everybody’s mouth lately, as the Real Madrid chairman’s recent interview with Onda Cero’s El Transistor really brought up several interesting topics to light regarding the team’s future.
So, after lauding Cristiano Ronaldo and labeling him as the ultimate Galactico of all times, the controversial president had a lot to say about Eden Hazard and his potential move to Santiago Bernabeu.
Still, he refused to discuss any further details about the negotiation, considering Chelsea’s season hasn’t come to an end, as they’re bound to play in the UEFA Europa League final vs. Arsenal, even though he admitted that Hazard has been a top target for Los Blancos for quite some time.
“How are we supposed to talk to a club who are playing in a final?. We’ve been trying for a number of years to make Hazard a Real Madrid player, but we haven’t achieved it yet. I’d really like Hazard to come to Real Madrid and really hope he does. He is one of the best footballers,” Perez claimed.
Hazard, on the other hand, would much rather see his future decided in the upcoming days, before joining the Belgium national team for the Euro qualifiers, as per the latest reports over his situation.
Real Madrid are set to go through a major overhaul in the summer, with Christian Eriksen, Paul Pogba, and Sadio Mane as the team’s top targets, while Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, and Sergio Ramos could all be on their way out. However, Perez was reluctant to share any inside information over any given player and a hypothetical move out of the team.
“We’re not thinking about players. We have to meet with Zidane and see what we want to do. We have to buy and sell. I won’t talk about any player,” he concluded.
