Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors are on the verge of making history, as they made it to the NBA Finals for the first time ever and have a huge shot at spoiling the Golden State Warriors’ three-peat.

The Warriors have been the team to beat ever since Steve Kerr took over as head coach 5 seasons ago, and there’s no wonder why, as they’ve dominated in both ends of the floor and made it to 5 Finals in a row.

However, Nick Nurse and the Canadian franchise have proven that they’ve got what it takes to fight against the best, and that includes Curry and company. That’s why today, we’ll let you know about the top 3 reasons why the Raptors have a huge shot at the ring.

3. Depth

The Golden State Warriors have always thrived thanks to their depth and their long rotation, especially in the playoffs, where most teams tend to give their starters a longer leash and role players barely see the hardwood.

The Raptors feature one of the best second units in the world, with players of the likes of Serge Ibaka and Fred VanVleet coming off the bench. This team is long and perfectly suited to match up with the Warriors’ depth.

2. Kevin Durant

The Toronto Raptors have homecourt advantage against the Golden State Warriors, and that shouldn’t be taken for granted, especially with Durant out for Game 1 and questionable at best for the 2nd game of the series.

If the Raptors manage to hold their own and win their first two matchups without Kevin Durant, the Warriors are going to have an incredibly tough time trying to overcome that deficit, even if Durant eventually makes his return.

1. Kawhi Leonard

And last but not least, we can’t forget about the new King in the North. Kawhi Leonard has made the Raptors forget about DeMar DeRozan in the blink of an eye, and he’s playing like the best hooper in the world right now.

Leonard is averaging over 30 points in almost 60% from the floor and 50% from three-point land, let alone the fact that he’s the best defender on earth. He’s stepped over as the most dominant player in the NBA, and he’s more than ready to prove his haters wrong, so bring on the Warriors.
