The road for Isaiah Thomas has not been easy since his departure from Boston. After short stints with the Lakers, Cavs, and Nuggets all ended in disappointing fashion, his future in the league is highly questionable as the 2x All-Star enters a summer of unknowns.
Unlike other potential low-cost players on the market this year, Thomas has a good chance to thrive given the right situation. He averaged over 15 points last season despite being traded twice and coming off an injury. He is only 30-years-old.
According to Miami Heat insider Greg Sylvander, the Miami Heat is one team that has shown interest in signing the once-polarizing star.
Indications are the Heat will at least explore signing Isaiah Thomas this summer as a (low cost) scoring option. https://t.co/Q9qyDK0yHV

The Heat have been stuck in a rudder themselves these past few years. Hassan Whiteside has not lived up to expectations, and Goran Dragic just celebrated his 33rd birthday in May. They need a spark and Thomas could help bring that spark provided they give him the time to grow.
Besides Miami, the market for I.T. is not necessarily deep. A return to Boston is not out of the question, but the Celtics will have bigger concerns come July 1.
The Heat remain to most realistic and fitting landing spot for the 5’9″ scorer.
