Fadeaway World

Nikola Vucevic is coming off the best season of his career. With averages of 20.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, he got his first All-Star nod and even beat the odds to lead the Orlando Magic to the playoffs.

The big man is now poised to earn a lot of money in free agency a couple of months from now, but then, there’s always the biggest of all questions when this moment comes: Should I take the money or the chance to compete?

Once Vucevic has made up his mind about that question, he’s definitely going to have plenty of offers sitting on his table. But, where should he go to? Let’s walk you through it, as we review the best destinations for him.

4. Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks were hoping to land another marquee player in this year’s NBA Draft, but the lottery gods didn’t smile back at them. Now, they’ll look to spend their money wisely, and Vucevic may be a suitable option for them.

The Hawks want to play with pace and space, and Vucevic is a gifted scorer and has developed a sweet stroke from three-point land, something that would open up a lot of space and passing lanes for Trae Young.

3. Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings were just knocking on the door in this year’s playoffs, so they know that they need to make a couple of moves right away if they want to be better and put an end to their everlasting drought.

The Kings could bring Vucevic on board via sign-and-trade, by sending Orlando Willie Cauley-Stein, Nemanja Bjelica, Harry Giles and a future 2nd round pick in return, and both teams would be significantly enhanced that way.

2. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks have been looking for a starting center for quite some long time, and even now that they have Kristaps Porzingis, it doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t want to go big and also make a run at Vucevic.

This frontcourt would be really entertaining to watch and they’re just a couple of pieces away from being a legit contender. Also, with Doncic on board as well, they’d have quite a European team in the Western Conference.

1. Orlando Magic

Or well, he could just stay put with the Orlando Magic, as they’re the team that could offer him the most money. However, they’d still have a huge problem ahead of them, and his name is Mo Bamba, will they give up on him so easily?

The Magic are stacked in the frontcourt with Vucevic, Bamba, Jonathan Isaac, and Aaron Gordon, so if they commit on Vucevic for the long run, they’re likely to move at least one of their young assets during the Draft night.
