Manchester United keep on their quest to boost their ranks this summer and they won’t doubt to pay big money in order to get the best players across the continent. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is trying to strengthen their defense and one of the best Serie A defenders this season have made it to their list of candidates.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has gained a lot of attention from several European clubs in the last months, including the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus. Koulibaly has been on United’s radar for some time and they have finally made a bid for the Senegalese defender

According to the Italian media (via Football 365), the English giants have made a world record £100 million offer for Koulibaly which would be a world-record fee for a defender if it goes through.

Juventus have also shown their interest in signing the African player from Napoli, with Maurizio Sarri expected to be the new team’s manager and reunite with the center-back in Turin. They are hopeful that the fact that Kalidou shares the same agent as midfielder Miralem Pjanić can help them attract the 27-year-old to Juventus.

Koulibaly is one of the most reliable defenders in Europe right now. Ever since he landed in Napoli from Belgian side Genk in 2014, he hasn’t stopped improving his level, being one of the best in his position at this very moment. It’s not a surprise that every major club in Europe wants to acquire his services, but it looks like United have taken a step forward on the race for the defender.
