Tottenham Hotspur just finished a magical season where they went to play their first ever Champions League Finals and the North Londoners are ready to improve that and make some splash this summer transfer window. With Christian Eriksen keen to leave the team, Mauricio Pochettino and his staff are looking to replace the Danish midfielder and they already have some candidates in mind.

Spurs have been following Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler for the last couple of months, with Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen also interested in signing the German international.

After good performances with German sides Schalke and Wolfsburg, Draxler decided to join PSG a couple of seasons ago, where he has played just fine. Julian has helped his team to win two league titles, as well as other domestic trophies. Despite the good quality he has shown since his arrival in Paris, Sport Witness (via L’Equipe) have reported that PSG are willing to let Draxler go in order to balance their accounts in accordance with Financial Fair Play rules.

That is when Tottenham make their appearance as well as Bayer Leverkusen, who are said to have made formal inquiries about Draxler, with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich also interested in the talented winger/attacking midfielder.

L’Equipe state that the French champions would be looking for ‘at least €40 million’ to get rid of Draxler and ease their finances. However, even though PSG want to let him go this summer, the World Cup winner has stated he’s really happy in Parc des Princes and he would like to stay in the club if possible.

Julian could be a great replacement for Christian Eriksen once the Danish finds a new team. Draxler initially played as a winger during his days in Germany and the first moments in Paris, but this season he played more centrally, behind Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, something that Mauricio Pochettino and his side could use in their favor when Eriksen leaves.

Nevertheless, if PSG don’t change their mind about Draxler, which they won’t, right now it’s more likely to see him going back to his homeland instead of joining a Premier League side.
