After the good campaign they had, at least in Europe, this term, Premier League side Arsenal is ready to make some splash this offseason and they have put their attention to one of the most talented players in the continent.

Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech has been linked to a move to the Premier League and Arsenal appear as the best destination for the Morocco player. According to reports from the Netherlands, Ziyech is looking to move to a club like Arsenal this summer, a team that fits his style of football.

Hakim has been one of the most important players in Ajax in the last two seasons or so, but now it looks like his time to leave the Johan Cruyff ArenA has arrived. He has become one of the summer transfer window’s most wanted players following his incredible season with the Dutch giants, where he scored 21 goals and claimed 24 assists across all competitions.

Nevertheless, according to journalist Marcel van der Kraan, Ziyech is not planning to sign with a team only to get a huge payment; in fact, the Moroccan wants to continue playing for a club with a clear philosophy, just like he’s been doing with the current Eredivisie champions.

“I know that the player would like to go to a club like Arsenal – they have always played good football,” van der Kraan said, quoted by talkSPORT.

Good thing for Arsenal and any other team interested in Ziyech is that the player’s rumored €25 million release clause is actually a myth, confirmed by an old interview with Ajax chief Edwin van der Sar where he confirmed that Ziyech, in fact, doesn’t have any kind of release clause in his contract.

De Telegraaf (via The Mirror) claim Ajax are still willing to sell Ziyech in a cut-price €35 million deal this summer. This report also names Italian side AS Roma as a club who have made an approach for Ziyech so far, but they add that there are more offers on the table from teams in Germany and Spain.
