For the first time in five years, the West is wide-open. Golden State is marred with injuries that will force their stars on the sideline for at least a year. The Nuggets are young and look like they need another piece. The Spurs are too old and have not been the same since giving up Kawhi. The Thunder are too inconsistent and do not have enough shooting. The Lakers got better, but have yet to play a single game with their revamped roster.
If you are the Rockets (a franchise who has routinely been halted by the Warriors), the time is now. Even in the midst of inner turmoil, and non-existent cap space, they must make a change to put their team over the top.
They have been looking at Jimmy Butler to bring that change. According to Brian Smith, Houston will aggressively pursue the four-time All-Star in free agency this summer.
Rockets are expected to pursue Butler and be aggressive in their pursuit. Seen as an ideal fit on both ends of court, and in helping push Rockets to the top of the wide-open West.

The Rockets will have their work cut out for them if they are serious about adding Butler. They will have to trade Capela and a whole lot of other pieces to create enough cap space, and even then they cannot offer more than Philadelphia (who is prepared to offer a 5-year max deal of their own).
It will be a miracle if the Rockets can pull this off.
