Neymar Jr. has finally come back to Paris one week later after he was called to join the Paris Saint-Germain pre-season camp. The Brazilian star has been the subject of plenty of rumors about a potential return to Barcelona, the club he left two years ago to join Les Parisiens on a world-record transfer fee.

Seeing that he failed to show up last Monday when the club started their pre-season preparations, rumors got bigger about Ney’s future.

However, a week later, the Brazilian forward made it to the French capital and he was seen taking part in an intense gym session with his teammates, at the club’s state-of-the-art training base. L’Equipe’s Anne-Sophie Bernadi captured the Brazilian’s arrival.

Despite having returned to Paris, his desire to leave the club and go to Barcelona is still there for the 27-year-old. Nevertheless, according to Marca, PSG’s sporting director Leonardo doesn’t think the Blaugrana are in the best position to afford a potential Neymar return to the Camp Nou.

“It’s clear for everyone,” Leonardo said. “In football, you say one thing and then another thing the day after. It’s incredible, but that’s how it is.

“We’ve spoken with his representatives. Their position is clear but there’s only one thing that is certain for now: he has a three-year contract with us and, as we’ve not received any offers for him, we can’t discuss anything.

“Neymar can leave PSG if the right offer comes in,” Leonardo said in his first interview since returning to the club.

“But now we don’t know if anyone wants to buy him or at what price. All this can’t happen in a day, this I’m sure of.”

If they weren’t in the best position to sign Neymar before, they have much fewer chances to get the Brazilian back after finally activating Antoine Griezmann’s release clause to purchase the French forward.

It looks like Neymar will have to wait at least another season to complete his longed-for return to Catalonia.
