There have been a lot of rumors surrounding Manchester City winger Leroy Sane and his possible departure to Bayern Munich this summer. But now those rumors are faded after the latest updates on the Germany international situation.
Even though it looked like the winger will stay at the Etihad Stadium, now his manager Pep Guardiola has hinted that he’s free to go if he doesn’t feel happy with the Citizens.
Sane has yet to sign a new contract with City and with all the interest from Bayern Munich, it’s not very clear what the real intentions of the player are at this moment.
That is why Pep has insisted and somehow encouraged the 23-year-old to leave the club if he doesn’t feel comfortable.
“The club made him an offer last year but I said many times that I want people happy to be here,” Guardiola said, quoted by The Mirror. “We are going to help him to be the best. We know his potential and what his level is and he has a special quality that is difficult to find around the world.
“He knows, they all know, it’s difficult because of the quality we have. But, at the same time, I spoke to the club 10 times, and I want people here to be happy.
“If they don’t want, they go. But the desire to have him to be with us is always there.”
The youngster has been a top priority for the Bavarians this summer, but the Bundesliga champions haven’t matched City’s £100 million price tag, adding other alternatives to their list, including Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, Lille’s Nicolas Pepe and Hakim Ziyech of Ajax.
Sane’s asking fee is still a huge problem for Bayern, but if they want to improve their level, they need to spend some money.
