Manchester United have been one of the most active clubs during this summer transfer window. Having completed the signings of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Red Devils are still on the hunt for reinforcements and are reportedly ready to make at least four more signings this offseason.

Now, United have been surprisingly linked to a move with one of the most talented Italian youngsters at this moment.

Nicolo Zaniolo has been one of the biggest surprises in European football in the last year, drawing attention from a lot of teams, with Man. Utd. being the latest addition to his list of suitors.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira this week after their good performances in a pre-season friendly against Leeds, but United are still thought to be in the search for a new midfielder, regardless of Paul Pogba’s situation.

Newcastle talent Sean Longstaff and Sporting CP’s Bruno Fernandes have been heavily linked to make their way to Old Trafford, while others like Trabzonspor captain Yusuf Yazici have been rumored to be sought by the English giants, too.

Now, CalcioMercato claim that United see Zaniolo as a ‘perfect signing’ and will ‘try to sabotage’ the attempts of both Juventus and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur to sign the 20-year-old.

Seeing the characteristics of the players United have signed so far, Zaniolo follows that line given that he’s young and has a huge potential, just like James and Wan-Bissaka.

Nevertheless, signing this young guy will be a hard task for them, since Tottenham are reportedly the front-runners to secure Nicolo’s signature this summer; an advantage for Spurs is that Roma are interested in center-back Toby Alderweireld, which could ease negotiations between the two sides.

Zaniolo has had a unique career. After failing to make a single appearance with Internazionale, he was sent to Roma, where he earned a spot in the starting lineup and a lot of attention from some of the best clubs in the old continent.
