Real Madrid don’t back down in their attempts to land big names this summer. Even though they have already spent a lot of money on transfers, Los Blancos are still finding ways to land players.
In the last couple of days, Madrid offered two swap deals to Manchester United involving Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez, respectively, in an attempt to persuade the Red Devils to let Paul Pogba go. After United turned down both offers, the Spaniards have put their attention on a different star.
According to Don Balon, Real are preparing an offer of €80 million plus the services of Isco Alarcon for Sadio Mane, a player valued at around €200 million by Liverpool. Mane has been improving his level season after season and now is one of the best attackers in European football, playing a key role in Liverpool’s terrific 2018/19 season, in which the Reds were the Premier League runners-up and Champions League winners.
Zinedine Zidane has been a long-time admirer of Mane, and this summer his club has been linked with the Senegalese player on several occasions. It was believed that Marco Asensio would be used as part of a deal with Liverpool, but now the youngster is injured and will be absent for a long time.
With the arrival of Eden Hazard and seeing the players the club has right now, it’s unclear why Madrid are still pursuing Mane. It’ll be interesting to see how they manage this situation, if they submit an actual offer for the striker or decide to turn their attention to any other target.
