The Neymar Jr situation is going out of hand right now. He doesn’t want to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, the team’s supporters turned their back on him, and no one is willing to pay the huge figure their asking for him.

Still, Real Madrid and Barcelona have flirted with the possibility of bringing him back to Spain, as he’s still one of the most talented players in the world regardless of his off-court antics.

Neymar found a lot of success during his first stint at Spain, winning back-to-back La Liga titles, 3 straight Copa del Rey, 1 Supercopa de España, 1 FIFA Club World Cup, and 1 UEFA Champions League.

However, he’s no longer the same player he once was and even if he regrets his record-breaking €222 move to Paris Saint-Germain, the Catalans shouldn’t bring him back to Camp Nou:

3. Self-Respect

Neymar left Barcelona in very bad terms. He orchestrated a last-second move away from the team and even filed a lawsuit against them claiming they still owe him €30 million Euros.

Reports claim Josep Maria Bartomeu demands Neymar to drop the lawsuit if he wants to come back to Barcelona, but still, what kind of message would that send? No player should be above an organization, and, out of self-respect, they shouldn’t allow him to come back.

3. Money

The Blaugrana have spent a lot of money lately and bringing Neymar on board would be a major investment for them, especially after they already spent €120 million in Antoine Griezmann less than a month ago.

Barcelona are still working on the project to rebuild Camp Nou and they’re already paying a huge payroll with Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Luis Suarez, and Griezmann. Also, if they want to work out on Lionel Messi’s extension, they better save as much money as they can.

1. They Don’t Need Him

Neymar is one of the most talented players in the world. There’s just no denying his talent and ability to make an impact on the game, but Barcelona simply don’t need him anymore.

The Blaugrana have signed Coutinho, Dembele, and Griezmann to fill the void he left three seasons ago, and while the first two still haven’t lived up to the expectations, there’s just no room for Suarez, Griezmann, Neymar, and Messi to coexist.
