After three years of unprecedented greatness, the Golden State Warriors experienced one of their biggest losses to date: the departure of Kevin Durant.

The 2x Finals MVP helped the Dubs become nearly unbeatable during their last two Championship runs until a torn Achilles forced him on the sidelines in the 2019 postseason. After much speculation, Game 5 of that Finals series would end up being the last Durant would ever play as a member of the Warriors — leaving Steph to help lead his team through a darkening period in their history.

Here is what Curry had to say, specifically, on the departure of some important key players for the Warriors this offseason:

Steph started with the Warriors way back in 2009 and has remained with them ever since. After some early struggles sidelined the budding star early in his career, he blossomed to become the greatest shooter the game has ever seen.

With Durant, he was able to win two Championships and form a dynasty recognized by some as the most dominant to ever exist. With home gone, though there are seemingly no hard feelings, Steph will continue to trust in his abilities and that of those around him to keep the Warriors in contention for years to come.

If you ask him, the “run” is only just getting started.
