When Kevin Durant announced he would be leaving the Warriors, one of the earliest faces blasted was Draymond Green. Because of his early-season dispute with Durant, in which harsh words were exchanged, he was blamed for having a role in his departure.

Needless to say, it seemed obvious that Durant and Draymond were not on the best of terms. But in comments made by Draymond about the nature of KD’s departure, it seems we may have overestimated their “rivalry.”

“That’s my brother and I’m happy for him,” Green told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “Not many times in life do you get to do what you want to do. He’s worked his ass off and had the opportunity to do exactly what he wanted to do. He deserves to do exactly that.”

Together, the pair won two NBA Finals and dominated the league in a way rarely ever seen. Though they had their differences, their partnership was very much successful.

What they will do apart from one another remains to be seen, but nobody can un-do what they accomplished during their three-year run.
