The Los Angeles Lakers have had a big win early, not a win in an actual match but a win in the league’s official schedule. The league has just unveiled the official schedule for the 2019-20 season and it’s left the Lakers jumping for joy. The Lakers will now be playing in a massive 31 nationally televised games, this includes 14 times on ESPN and 12 on TNT.

This ensures that the franchise will be right in the spotlight for not just the West coast but the entire United States of America.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes that the Lakers have a massive advantage with the start of their schedule.

“The pump has been primed for the Lakers here,” Brian Windhorst said on SportsCenter. “They have got a tremendous advantage start, ten of their first fourteen games are in Los Angeles, of those road games, only one of them is against a team that made the playoffs last season, they are set up to get off to a great start.”

It does give the franchise quite the advantage and allows them the opportunity to have the perfect start to the season. It should be mentioned that the Lakers will face difficult stretches on the road in later parts of the season. This includes a road stretch later in the season of the Rockets, Celtics, Knicks, Nets and Sixers.

The Lakers have turned into a team that’s a true contender for the championship ever since they received Anthony Davis in a trade that sent away their young talent and multiple draft picks.

One match that is incredibly important not to miss is the match-up against rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers on October the 22nd. The two teams may be arguably the biggest contenders in the league right now after the Clippers recruited both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Expect the entire basketball world tuning in to every match that the two teams face each other in the 2020 season.

It’s not a major surprise to see the Lakers hit prime time a lot more this upcoming season, they’re absolutely going to be one of the most exciting teams to watch, even if it does take a bit of time for the franchise to nail their chemistry.
