Mauro Icardi’s situation is getting more complicated by the day, as the controversial striker is still wandering around Internazionale despite the fact that Antonio Conte doesn’t want him on board.

Icardi is one of the most talented strikers in the world, but he seems like too much of a trouble to deal with, and with his wife – and agent – Wanda Nara openly bashing the team every time she has a chance to do so, things aren’t looking very well for him right now.

However, former AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani claims Nara is nothing but another victim of ‘machismo’, and that things would’ve been different for them if he were represented by a man:

“The Icardi saga has been amplified by the machismo that governs the world of football. Whenever Wanda Nara opens her mouth, a hurricane is unleashed, Yet if great agents like Mino Raiola or Jorge Mendes behaved in the same way, no one would complain. Icardi, however, is a very good striker. If I could, I’d take him right away,” the former CEO told Corriere della Sera.

Icardi was linked with a move to European giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona, but his controversial nature and Wanda Nara’s antics scared away most of his suitors.

Last season, he refused to join his team on a UEFA Europa League matchup after being stripped from the captaincy and held out of the team’s practice for several weeks before asking for a second chance.

The 26-year-old has gone back and forth with Internazionale, claiming he deserves better but then asking for forgiveness, so the Nerazzurri have no intentions of dealing with his attitude anymore.

Nara, on the other hand, continues to criticize the team’s policies and way the managers use his husband in the pitch, and that’s one of the main reasons why he’s not called up by Argentina’s national team either.
