LeBron James is having a quiet offseason when it comes to statements about what is going to happen next season with him and new-look Lakers. In fact, he’s taking some time to enjoy his family and friends, but not leaving aside his workout routine to come back stronger next season after a failed first campaign with the Purple and Gold.

James missed 17 games last year due to a groin injury that affected the Lakers for the whole season. This term he’s set to team up with Anthony Davis and take the Lakers to win the NBA championship in one of the hardest-fought leagues in recent years.

At 35, it’s normal that some people believe that LBJ won’t be the same as he used to, and even called him a ‘washed King.’ He recently received zero votes in a survey for the best player in the NBA and the Lakers received zero votes to win the West or the championship, so the 3-time NBA champion has gotten to work to prove all his doubters wrong.

On Wednesday, he shared an Instagram story embracing his ‘washed King’ nickname.

“Sharpening the [knives]. Daily battles coming in the near future,” he wrote.

He’s been very active these days, posting workout videos. On Tuesday we could see him doing some squats, getting ready for the upcoming season.

You do not mess with the King, and he’s ready to show why next season.
