Luka Doncic is seen as one of the future stars of the NBA after his good displays overseas and the things he did during his rookie season in the league. However, something that racked up a lot of criticism towards the Slovenian was his weight and how much bigger he was compared to other players from his draft class.

He had an exhausting tenure with Real Madrid before he made his way to the NBA, but this summer he had a challenge, to get in better shape. Moreover, he promised Dallas Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban that he was going to develop six-pack abs this summer, but Doncic looks far from fulfilling his promise to Cuban.

Tamara Jolee asked about the progress of his challenge, and Luka had a hilarious response to that:

“Awww no six-pack,” he said. “I have one, I have one ab…”

That doesn’t mean that he’s not working to get fit this offseason, and you can tell in his most recent posts on social media how he’s getting more cuts and looking leaner as well.

If he gets in better shape next season, this kid is going to take his game to the next level. He already won the 2019 Rookie of the Year award, so now the sky’s the limit for Luka. He averaged 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists on a 43% shooting clip.

A proper body conditioning plus his already-impressive arsenal will make this guy one of the best players in the league in a couple of years.
