The Celtics made some much-needed changes this offseason after failing to secure an NBA Finals berth this past spring.

But could more changes be on the way? Amongst a mill of rumors and whispers is the idea that the team could be tracking the availability of Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker. Sportskeeda’s Tristan Elliot recently suggested a Suns/Celtics trade involving the young superstar.

“As things stand, Boston has no chance at competing with the Sixers, Nets, and Bucks — and aside from Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker, the Celtics should allow the Suns to have their pick of players. Ultimately, the Celtics need a player of Booker’s caliber to challenge the East’s best, and the team should throw everything at a deal if the Suns show any appetite to trade Booker.”

With a big enough offer, the Celtics could make Phoenix think twice about holding onto Booker. They could offer a guy like Brown, several picks, and anyone else they’d want to be thrown in.

As for the Celtics, having an offensive power like Booker would instantly cement their status as an elite in the East, alongside Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum.

It will be interesting to see just what kinds of moves the Celtics have up their sleeve this season — and if a guy like Booker will be a part of any of them.
