Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur have received great news in recent hours, as they reportedly were given the ‘go-ahead’ to sign a very exciting player next January when the winter transfer window opens.

They were linked with Paulo Dybala over the summer, but they were unable to complete a deal for the Argentinian striker, who is set to stay put in Turin after Juventus sporting director ruled out a move for the attacker this summer, amid links with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

“We can absolutely rule out Dybala leaving this summer. We can exclude that as a possibility. This is a club that leaves a good impression, as often players want to come back when they have left, most recently Gigi Buffon and Leonardo Bonucci,” Paratici said during a recent interview with Sky Sports.

“The transfer market is planning and opportunity, so you need to keep your eyes out for the unpredictable elements. There are always opportunities for players coming in and going out, but if there aren’t over the next couple of days, we’ll remain as we are.”

However, it looks like things are different for Tottenham, who reportedly have been given the green light to reignite their interest in Dybala when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to football.london, the Lillywhites could make a move for the 25-year-old next year as he hasn’t agreed to any move this summer, even more knowing that Fabio Paratici himself ruled out a move away for Paulo.

Dybala has shown all his quality with Juventus, but seeing his lack of participation as a starter at the Allianz Stadium, a move abroad could be a great option for him. Tottenham face the prospect of losing star playmaker Christian Eriksen shortly and Dybala would be a great replacement for the Danish player.

Some financial issues prevented the Spurs from signing Dybala this summer, but that might change next January, even more, if they can get some cash by selling Eriksen.
